Mercy IC interim CEO headed to UnityPoint Health-Cedar Rapids

Mike Heinrich, who is serving as interim chief executive officer and executive vice president and chief financial officer of Mercy Iowa City, will join UnityPoint Health-Cedar Rapids as senior vice president/chief financial officer this summer. He succeeds Milt Aunan who retired in May. Iowa Mercy Health Network President and CEO Dave Vellinga has appointed Shane Cerone to replace Mr. Heinrich as interim CEO of Mercy Iowa City.

Hepatitis C screening offered to baby boomers during June

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in 30 baby boomers has hepatitis C, and most don’t know it. Hepatitis C is a contagious liver disease resulting from infection with the hepatitis C virus.

Courage Ride fundraiser for sarcoma research to be held Aug. 19
