An unrelenting focus on customer satisfaction helped the McGrath Family of Dealerships claim three Best of the Corridor wins this year.
It was the best showing yet for the group, which now counts 10 dealerships across Eastern Iowa after acquiring the former Zimmerman Ford Hyundai dealership in Cedar Rapids last summer.
“There’s no magic bullet when it comes to customer service – it’s a lot of little things,” said Gavin McGrath, general manager at Pat McGrath Chevyland in Cedar Rapids. “Number one, it’s the mindset of our people when we have an opportunity: Do the right thing, exceed expectations and make a difference.”
McGrath’s dealerships invest heavily in training their staffs and closely monitor how customers feel about the service they’re receiving through voice of the customer (VOC) surveys. Mr. McGrath said the dealer-ships correct and learn from the mistakes it finds.
That high level of service has been recognized by awards like the Chevrolet Dealer of the Year, 2018 Kia Dealer of Excellence, and Dealerrater.com’s Chevrolet Dealer of the Year in Iowa from 2012-2018. The Pat McGrath Chevyland and McGrath Buick GMC Cadillac service departments have both received General Motors Certified Elite recognition.
