“We’re growing, as always,” said Justin McDonald, marketing director for Cedar Graphics, the Hiawatha-based printing company making its eighth appearance on the CBJ’s Best of the Corridor list. The latest development involves new six- and eight-color presses in the company’s offset division, which enhance its ability to deliver high-end work without breaking the bank.

Best Accounting Firm and IT Support Company: RSM US LLP

RSM US LLP enters the CBJ’s Best of the Corridor Hall of Fame this year with its 10th win in the Best Accounting Firm category – a category it dominated as its predecessor, McGladrey, from the competition’s launch in 2006 until 2014.

Best Engineering Firm: HR Green

HR Green may be a newcomer to the CBJ’s Best of list, but the 105-year-old enterprise that got its start in Cedar Rapids is one of the nation’s longest operating engineering firms. It has grown from a handful of employees to 450 spread across 16 locations nationally, from Chicago and St. Louis to as far as Corona, California.

Best Residential Interior Design: Phelan’s

Now in its eighth decade of improving and beautifying homes and commercial spaces in the Corridor, Phelan’s offers both a long history and track record of happy clients, including the Cedar Rapids Metro Alliance, Acumen and the Early Bird Café.

Best Business Consulting and Wealth Management: Honkamp Krueger & Co.

Best Fine Arts Venue: Hancher Auditorium

The soaring 1,800-seat, $176 million auditorium, now in its third season at its new home, has won over performers with its spacious backstage areas and upgraded acoustics, while audiences are captivated by the lobby, the light-filled Stanley Cafe and “the intimacy of the space.”

An unrelenting focus on customer satisfaction helped the McGrath Family of Dealerships claim three Best of the Corridor wins this year.

At Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, the formula for winning Best Bank begins with people. The bank puts a focus on service, and surveys new customers about their experience. The results go directly to Mr. Helling, and he personally contacts customers who are not fully satisfied to find out how the organization can improve.

Best Cultural Attraction: National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library

In 2008, the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library (NCSML) in Cedar Rapids’ was nearly destroyed by a devastating flood; its latest honor as the Corridor’s Best Cultural Attraction just 10 years later shows just how resilient the institution is, said Marketing Director Forrest Meyer.
