Best advice you ever received?
You have 10 seconds to be mad at a situation or yourself before moving on to make sure it does not negatively affect you. It’s one of the hardest things to implement in life, but it’s what the greatest ball players of our time do – they’re not thinking about the last strikeout, they’re thinking about what’s next.
Biggest break?
I broke my wrist in elementary school – fell off the rope swing and snapped it. Man, that was bad.
What do you know now that you wish you had known earlier in your career?
Meet everybody that you can, pick their brain and don’t be afraid to ask for help. You never know where it could lead you.
If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support?
I would support causes that deal with kids and underprivileged youth. A few of my favorites include the Fifth Ward Saints and Children of Promise.
