What do you consider your greatest professional accomplishments?
I started working in banking as a teller 10 years ago. I got my undergrad and MBA while working at CRBT and today, I am proud to lead the retail banking team at CRBT.
What would most people be surprised to learn about you?
When I was in college, I spent my Saturday nights as a radio host on Mix 96.5.
How do you ensure a balance between work and your personal life?
I believe the key to having a successful career and family life is not to just balance them, but to integrate them. You have to blend who you are with what you do personally and professionally in order to make them both work.
What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace?
My generation values continual learning and flexibility. We are always looking for ways to grow and push ourselves.
If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support?
I would support causes that help by educating people to better their quality of life, such as Junior Achievement, Horizons and Matthew 25.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I would like to be a high school teacher or college professor.
What is the biggest issue facing the Corridor?
Retaining young talent is an ongoing issue we face as a community. Many people still have the “get out of Iowa” mentality and it is hard to attract talent from other regions to Iowa. I think we are improving on our appeal by developing our arts and entertainment industries.
