Best advice you ever received?

Successful people get out of bed in the morning.

Don’t burn a bridge unless you know how to swim.

If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.

What do you consider your biggest break so far?

I married a strong woman who has helped me raise equally-as-strong daughters. I’m not sure how or why she said “yes” to me, but I’m now surrounded by four women who are doing and will continue to do amazing things in this world. Rachel loving me is my biggest break so far.

What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why?

Division. Should the Corridor be business friendly, family friendly, environmentally friendly, education friendly, immigrant friendly, etc.? I believe people of the Corridor want all of the above but seem to have opposing opinions on how to get there. All sides are entrenched in their views and ideas. The ingredients are there to make the Corridor not just the garden spot of Iowa, but the garden spot of the U.S. if we can find a way to work together toward our common goal.

What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50?

Success first in my home. By 50, my daughters will have graduated and moved on to the next chapter in their lives, and I want to know that I was the best father possible to them when that time comes. Success in my business means that those around me have success. My passion in my career is bringing others to a success they didn’t know existed for them.
