BankIowa announces the opening of a new location in Marion, joining 11 other Eastern Iowa branches in Cedar Rapids, Independence, Jesup, Lamont, Norway and Waterloo/Cedar Falls.

Construction is underway at the new Marion location, with a redesign and rethinking of space that will bring life to a more modern approach to banking at BankIowa. The Marion branch will be located at 901 Tower Terrace Road and is targeted to open in late fall.

“We decided to open this location because through our presence in the greater Cedar Rapids area we have gained many customers in Marion. We want to serve those customers better, and because we also see a lot happening there, our goal is to also be a part of the city’s ongoing growth,” Alex Urbina, vice president, director of business intelligence and finance, stated in a release. “Marion will also be an evolution in our approach to banking. We will be using a new banking model that includes the use of Relationship Bankers, as well as new technology.”

With more than $600 million in total assets, BankIowa remains an independent, locally owned institution since 1921. CBJ
