What do you consider your biggest break so far?

I’m so grateful to Scott Kruger and the team at NewBo City Market for my time serving the community through accessible and engaging programming. That position connected me with incredible colleagues, lifelong friends and solidified my passion for the region I’ve come to love.

What would most people be surprised to learn about you?

I hold my black belt in Tang Soo Do karate.

What’s the biggest issue facing the Corridor, and why?

The Corridor and the city of Cedar Rapids are growing at a rapid pace. Local entrepreneurship and a slew of new nonprofits are bringing new opportunity and a sense of culture to our area. However, with rapid growth comes the challenge of maintaining a sense of community unification, as well as the thinning of dollars and attention.

If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support?

Our local arts nonprofits are in a current state of flux, particularly performing arts organizations. I would love to donate my $1 million to empower the performing arts in our area to establish long-term consistency of product and viable business practices.

What do you want to accomplish by the time you are 50?

I’d like to see more unification amongst our local community organizations. More collaboration throughout the Corridor will lead to greater results and a more substantial impact. I believe the Corridor can be one of the nation’s great regions if we move into the future together.
