What’s the best advice you ever received?
You are never sorry for having worked hard, from my dad.
What do you consider your greatest professional achievement(s)?
Induction into the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers. Membership in the academy is limited to 250 attorneys whose primary dedication is trial practice. Membership is by invitation only with unanimous approval by the organization’s board of governors. I am one of the youngest attorneys inducted into the academy.
What would most people be surprised to learn about you?
I love the sport of pickleball.
How do you ensure a balance between work and your personal life?
I have a wonderful wife who balances her own demanding professional life with the requirements of my job. We are good team and we love each other very much. Everything else is just details.
What’s something people should know about your generation in the workplace?
It appears increasingly evident that my generation will be expected to assume much of the laboring oar left behind by the soon-to-be retired baby boomers. In my opinion, my generation is largely ready to assume that responsibility.
If you had $1 million to give, what causes would you support?
The Willis Dady Emergency Shelter Capital Campaign.
What is the biggest issue facing the Corridor?
A lack of suitable low-to-middle income housing.
What book are you currently reading?
“Evicted” by Matthew Desmond.
