The University of Iowa Health Network Rehabilitation Hospital, a venture with Encompass Health, is hosting a virtual ribbon cutting this week at uihnrehab.com to celebrate its June 1 grand opening.

Located at 2450 Coral Court in Coralville, the inpatient rehabilitation hospital offers 40 private patient rooms, medical staff services exclusively provided by University of Iowa Health Care, a spacious therapy gym, an outdoor courtyard and advanced technologies.

The hospital will offer intensive rehabilitation services to patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries including strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions. In addition, through the partnership with University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, the state’s only tertiary care center, the hospital will care for patients recovering from major trauma and needing rehabilitation following complex care including transplant.

“While we wish we could be hosting this event in person, we are still excited to celebrate this great occasion with our community as we bring much needed services to the growing health system in the Iowa City and Coralville areas,” Amanda Olderog, CEO of University of Iowa Health Network Rehabilitation Hospital, stated in a press release. “Our team is excited to welcome our first patients through the doors, help them meet their personal and medical goals, and provide them with the courage to move forward.” CBJ
