The Corridor Business Journal’s 16th-annual Forty Under 40 Awards recognize 40 leaders under the age of 40 who have made a significant impact in their organization and community early in their careers. Honorees, and 2020 Alumna of the Year Lura McBride, had the opportunity to deliver a brief acceptance speech upon receiving their award.
Corridor Manufacturing Conference
Held each year on National Manufacturing Day, the Corridor Manufacturing Conference invites industry leaders to network, learn about best practices in the region, and build a stronger pipeline to engage the next generation. Now in its fourth year, the format of this event changed to a live webinar for the safety of presenters, staff and attendees.

Coolest Places to Work
The CBJ’s Coolest Places to Work awards recognize local companies that have created the most engaging and rewarding work environments. Self-nominated companies were selected based on the results of a worker satisfaction survey. Honorees were recognized at a Sept. 1 awards banquet at the Coralville Marriott. The CEO of the region’s No. 1 Coolest Place to Work shared her story.
Fastest Growing Companies
The CBJ’s Fastest Growing Companies awards identify and honor the region’s most dynamic companies that have made significant contributions to the strength of the local economy. The rankings of the top 25 companies were revealed at an Aug. 20 awards banquet, with videos on each company. The CEO from the Fastest Growing Company and the TLC Associates Entrepreneur of the Year, Jeff Quint, shared their stories.
Mid-Year Economic Review
The CBJ’s annual Mid-Year Economic Review, held June 24 at the Coralville Marriott, invites a keynote and panel of local business leaders to share their insights into where the economy is heading in the final six months of the year. Speakers include Charles Evans of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Jack Evans of the Hall-Perrine Foundation, Bruce Harreld of the University of Iowa, Kathryn Kunert of MidAmerican Energy, Greg Luerkens of Amana Society Inc. and Lura McBride of Van Meter Inc.

The CBJ’s annual 90 Ideas in 90 Minutes event invites nine local business leaders to share 10 of their best ideas and rule to live by that can be applied to any business.
